Funding evidence narrative (GIC + sponsor + scholarship)
Stitches GIC, sponsor savings, education loan, and scholarship into a coherent funding story.
CanadaStudyFundingGICIRCC R220
IRCC officers under R220 must be satisfied the applicant has sufficient funds to cover: (a) Year 1 tuition (b) Living expenses (CAD 20,635 minimum for 12 months as of 2024) (c) Return transportation Draft a 400-500 word funding narrative for [CLIENT_NAME]. Structure: §1 — SUMMARY OF NEED (60-80 words) Total Year 1 financial need: • Tuition: CAD [TUITION_CAD] • Living: CAD 20635 • Return ticket: CAD 1,500 (estimated) • TOTAL: CAD [calculate sum] §2 — IMMEDIATE LIQUID FUNDS (100-120 words) GIC: CAD 20635 (state issuing bank — CIBC / Scotiabank / RBC). Tuition payment receipt: [HAS_PAID_TUITION? specify the amount paid + receipt date]. These two items alone cover [calculate percentage]% of Year 1 need. §3 — SPONSOR FINANCIAL CAPACITY (120-150 words) [SPONSOR_PROFILE]. Position him/her as a financially mature sponsor with stable income source. Reference: • 3 years of ITR (income tax returns) showing consistent income • Bank balances of [BANK_BALANCES] • Business or salaried verification Convert key INR figures to CAD using a 1 CAD = 62 INR approximation (state the rate). For self-employed sponsors, address business stability (years operating, GST/UDYAM registration, employee count). §4 — SUPPLEMENTARY SOURCES (60-80 words) If none is non-empty: state the sanctioned amount, issuing bank, and the fact that disbursement is timed to academic year. Education loans count as committed funds. If none is non-empty: state the source, amount, and that it reduces the financial burden. §5 — TOTAL AVAILABLE vs NEED (40-60 words) Restate the sum: Total available > Total need by X%. Make the math explicit; do not let the officer calculate. §6 — SUSTAINABILITY FOR FUTURE YEARS (40-60 words) Briefly: sponsor's income covers ongoing years; education loan covers fees Year 2 onward; student is permitted up to 20 hrs/week on-campus part-time work (state this as a backup, not a primary plan). CRITICAL CONSTRAINTS: • Do NOT inflate. The visa officer will cross-check sponsor's ITR vs bank balances; large unexplained deposits trigger refusals. • If bank balances have grown >50% in the last 6 months without documented source, flag with "[SOURCE_OF_FUNDS_EXPLANATION_NEEDED]". • Do NOT mention the student plans to work full-time — even hinting at it triggers R200(3)(b) refusals. • Reference the GIC issuer; SDS stream requires specific approved banks. End with: "DRAFT FUNDING NARRATIVE — for RCIC review. Verify GIC issuance, sponsor ITR vs balance consistency, and education loan disbursement schedule alignment with academic year."
